Emily is a Financial Advisor at Blue Chip Partners. Emily is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Prior to joining Blue Chip Partners in 2021, Emily began her career with Deloitte and spent the first four years of her professional career as a tax consultant, developing specific expertise in state/local taxation for corporations and partnerships.
Emily earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting with a minor in Spanish and a Master of Science degree in Accounting with a specialization in Information Systems from Michigan State University. As Valedictorian of Fenton High School, it’s no surprise that Emily graduated with High Honor from MSU.
Emily enjoys running/working out, playing golf, tailgating for Michigan State football games, and spending time with family and friends.
What was your first job?
My first job was working at an ice cream shop during high school (people are often impressed by my soft serve ice cream cone skills). This job taught me how to provide excellent customer service and work quickly under pressure. It also taught me how to remain calm and courteous when dealing with disgruntled and not so polite customers. This experience helped prepare me for serving clients in my professional career.
Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
I can crochet. When I was younger, I won several blue ribbons at the Michigan State Fair. I love making scarves for family and friends because they are easy to customize and come in handy during Michigan winters.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I always thought it would be so cool to be able to fly. When I was younger, I was a gymnast and cheerleader. My favorite part of doing those sports was when I could tumble and flip through the air. During those moments, it feels like you're flying. As an adult, I absolutely hate getting stuck in traffic. So, being able to bypass the frequent rush-hour congestion and Michigan road construction would be amazing.
